Code of Conduct
Dancing is our passion and we look forward to sharing that with you.
Tiny Black Forest (short: TBF) is a Micro Fusion workshop weekend in
Freiburg. Dancing in close embrace will happen a lot, so it’s especially
important to be mindful of your own and other people’s boundaries and to
always act consensually and respectfully. We want every single person to
feel welcome, comfortable and safe while attending our event. Therefore,
we ask you to follow these guidelines if you'd like to spend a wonderful
weekend with us, filled with dance and connection:
- Respect your own and other people’s physical and emotional
boundaries. Dance is not an invitation for unwanted physical
intimacy. Close dancing does not imply romantic interest.
- We want to get together to dance. This is not an event for sexual
encounters.
- Please address other participants with their preferred name and
pronouns.
- Take care of yourself and of others – on and off the dance floor.
This includes personal hygiene, avoidance of strong odors –
artificial and natural – illness, and alcohol.
- Be gentle with your partner’s body and be mindful of those around
you while dancing.
- We see dancing as an invitation to tolerance and generosity.
However, a "no" is acceptable at any time and requires no
explanation.
- Be responsible for your own actions. Be aware that your actions can
have an effect on others.
- Respect other people’s opinions, beliefs, and ways of being.
- Dance roles are not tied to gender. It is polite to check in with
your partner about their preferred role before dancing.
- If you experience or witness any behavior that crosses your
boundaries or makes you feel uncomfortable please approach us.
- If it seems like someone is in need of help or might be feeling
left out: see if you can reach out to them in some way.
- Loud music can damage your hearing. That's why we've implemented a
noise policy to ensure music is played at a non-harmful volume.
However, please be mindful of your personal limits and bring earplugs
if you are sensitive to noise.
- Keep filming and photography to a minimum and be sensitive to the
context and the people around you. Also, make sure to ask permission
of everybody who is in the frame of your pictures or videos and in
range of your microphones.
Any form of harassment, non-consensual or unsafe behavior will lead to
exclusion from the event. If you encounter any problems you want to talk
about, please contact anyone from the organiser or the care team. You
have found a fox.
Thank you. We look forward to welcoming you at TBF!
