Tiny Black Forest Micro Fusion Workshop with Sia | 10.-12.04.2026
Do you already have (partner) dance experience and want to dive deeper into those subtle, gooey movements of micro fusion while also being in bed at reasonable hours? Then this is the workshop for you!
We’re planning a cosy micro dance weekend with classes in a small group and parties for everyone.
WORKSHOPS
Sia (she/they) from Bern is coming to Freiburg to share her love for micro fusion with us in two classes.
Class 1: Musicality of Touch in MicroFusion
How does our touch relate to the music we hear? In this workshop we’ll discover the inherent musicality of our tactile contact, explore how we use this to express music together and expand our options & creativity for our micro-movement embrace.
Class 2: Sharing Axis - instant connection & care in micro movement
In this workshop we’ll deep-dive into the caring phenomenon in Micro Fusion by exploring what both our own and our shared axis have to do with it. You can expect soothing practices that also aim to assist us in finding our most comfortable body posture and positions, allowing us to micro-move (together) for hours with support.
Introductory Classes
On Friday and Saturday, an introductory class will take place before the party, taught by Doreen and Sarah. These classes can be joined without a full pass, too. In this case, we kindly ask for an additional donation at the door. For full pass holders, the introductory classes are included.

Entrance fee for parties
All parties are included in the full pass.
If you’re only coming to the parties, suggested donations help us cover venue and GEMA fees:
- Friday: 5€ - 10€
- Saturday: 10€ - 15€ (with live music)
- Sunday: 3€ - 8€ (Tea Dance)
Drinks
Note that there is no bar at the venue, only tap water. Please bring your own bottle and - if you wish - your own drinks (and take your empty bottles back home).
YOUR INSTRUCTOR AND LIVE MUSICIAN: Sia
Sia (Musician)
Sia (she/they) is a voice movement artist, based in Bern, who is specialised in Improvisation & Instant Composition. While trained as a singer in Jazz & Contemporary Music, there is no musical language or genre that doesn't spark her interest – both as musician and dancer. One of her specialties lies in creating music & soundscapes by voice only, which lately she has been having the pleasure to perform live at a variety of European dance events. Sia performs solo and in spontaneous collaborations, sharing her music at fusion and dance festivals across Europe.
Sia (Teacher)
Sia had explored the universe of "micro" early on through solo Urban dance styles before discovering micro movement in partner dance traditions such as Kizomba, Forró, Zouk, Blues or even Tango. Yet it was her deep practice in Somatics that offered a non-artistic training in touch qualities, isolation skills, embodiment of different body systems as well as tactile listening, that later she could directly apply to Micro Fusion. After becoming and working as a somatic movement educator (BMC) Sia began to specialise her research in partner dance. Fusion Dance allowed her to weave all components of her work and practice together. While she passionately dances and learns a great variety of different styles and traditions, Sia teaches improvisation, musicality and fusion, both locally in Bern and internationally as a voice movement artist and therapist.

On the FABRIK premises, go through the front yard into the back yard. Then turn right towards the bicycle repair shop. There, go up the steel stairs and straight ahead.
NOTE: This is a local event in the city of Freiburg with classes and parties held at a local venue. This is NOT a residential event in the Black Forest. If you're coming from outside of Freiburg and need hosting, please try your luck in one of the many telegram groups with local dancers.
